If you love creative arts and want to experience working with children, then volunteering with the UCC is just for you.

The school at our centre runs all morning, and in afternoons we aim to run classes in art, drama and creative play for the UCC children who live locally. These afternoon sessions are planned and run solely by volunteers and usually attended by up to 30 children. Disadvantaged local children will not have access to resources like colouring pencils, paint or even paper to draw on, so the opportunity to have fun and express themselves through art is something that they absolutely love.

We welcome volunteers to share their creativity with the children, and also use the sessions as a space to deliver a wider curriculum, by tying art, dance, drama and music projects in with lessons in culture and the world they live in. Arts volunteers also have the opportunity to teach the students maths and English in the mornings.

Perhaps you are interested in teaching Art, or working with children on community projects but want the chance to live within a different culture. This is a real opportunity to work with wonderful children who cannot wait to share their talent with you.

You can combine this with the other aspects of volunteering at the UCC such as main school teaching or football or netbal coaching. We can build a programme that is rewarding, challenging and suitable to you.
